Landscape Maintenance ::
Services
There are two parts to a successful
landscape, the construction and the maintenance. Both are
equally important. Although as a rule, we program minimum
maintenance into any one of our designs, there is always the grass
areas and maintaining those clean crisp lines in the landscape.
That is where our experienced crews can help. We can make your
yard look like a million bucks!

Lawn Mowing
For optimum turf health,
lawns are never cut more than one-third of blade height.
We collect clippings and always keep nice, crisp, clean edges on
lawn and bed areas by string trimming. If requested, we
will leave the grass clippings in a compost pile on site,
otherwise we remove them from your property. |

Pruning
We will prune
small trees up to 12 feet off the ground. We will also
hand prune your shrubbery to maintain your desired growth
patterns and shapes and forms. This is all done while
maintaining the highest horticultural practices. Our
pruning tools are sterilized after every project with alcohol so
as to not spread any potential plant disease from one job to the
next. Pruning is a science and an art ... and we treat it
like that. |

Yard Clean-Up
Whether it be
the spring or the fall, generally you want to give your
landscape a little boost during that time of year. Your
flower beds cleaned out, winter clutter removed from your yard
in the spring or revamping the beds from a long hot summer,
believe me your yard will love you for it. We will hand
edge your beds, clean your garden beds, add pine bark mulch to
those beds, and fertilize your trees and shrubs. In
general, a real "spruce-up" (no pun intended).

Seasonal Color & Decorating
We call it color-scaping, but
really it's adding seasonal decorations to your landscape.
We stock a huge assortment of containers for adding some vigor
to your yard. Early spring, it's cold tolerant annual flowers.
In mid-May it's an array of annual flowers, including Proven
Winners. Our flowers always look so great, because of both
slow release and quick forms of fertilizer we use. Early
fall we decorate with mums, kale, pumpkins, corn stalks and
more. In the winter, our dedicated staff has the critical
eye to make your home a showcase with balsam wreaths, swags, containers,
and yes. even Christmas lights. |

Lawn Fertilizing
Your
lawn should be fed four times per year. The first
application should be put down in April, and the last just
before the late fall sets in. We use different types
throughout the year. Knowing just the right type of
fertilizer to employ and the optimum rate of application is what
makes a well fed lawn look so much better than one of those
tired lawns we've all seen. Is there anything more
attractive in a landscape than a rich dark green lawn that is
well manicured? |

Mulching & Specialty Items
We use only the finest
double-ground aged pine bark mulch from Maine. It is dark
brown in color, and void of any large strips or foreign items.
Our pine mulch supplier only carries bark in his large
trucks. Some suppliers also use their trucks for hauling
debris or trash, and some of those items are bound to make their
way into your mulch...not with ours. We also carry crushed
clam shells for mulch, crushed stone in various sizes, and
topsoil. A complete line of specialty soils and mulches in
the Coast of Maine line can also be seen at our garden center. |
